Event Description

Get ready to dive deep into the Midwest queer underground community. The series kicks off with a panel at the legendary queer nightclub The Stud in San Francisco. The Midwest Queer Underground features Stacey “Hotwax” Hale—the Godmother of Detroit House Music and a queer icon with four decades behind the decks—alongside The Blessed Madonna, the Kentucky-born DJ, producer, and promoter shaped by the Midwest rave scene and now an international force. The conversation will be hosted by Marke B. Together, these three voices explore how Midwest queer communities built lasting global connections, sharing lived experiences and stories passed down by rave elders who laid the foundation for today’s dance-music culture.
