Your Love: Alissa Brianna, Lakuti & Tama Sumo, Yvonne Turner

Tama Sumo and Lakuti’s “Your Love” parties started in 2015, focusing strongly on the idea of a community coming together and celebrating guests from the Black and LGBTIQ+ communities both in and outside of the DJ booth. For this edition of their party at Nowadays, they invite Yvonne Turner–a key figure in New York house music history and contemporary of artists like Loleatta Holloway and Arthur Baker, who pushed through years of often finding herself “the only girl in the room” in the ‘80s and ‘90s. She’s joined by rising New York star Alissa Brianna, who has become a recurring staple of beloved parties like The Carry Nation.
