Freddy K / Quelza / Call Super / Dee Diggs b2b Kilopatrah Jones
Freddy K returns to do what he does best. For this edition of his residency, he presents TAKEOVER, extending a special invitation to Quelza. The KEY Vinyl boss and BASEMENT resident is one of those rare talents whose early innovations are matched by his most recent work. Freddy’s long-game career has taken him from the foundational years of Italian techno, where he was an essential organizer and tastemaker, straight through to the present day. A maestro of the genre who isn’t afraid to collaborate, Freddy K is a powerhouse whose creative vitality is renewed again and again by staying rooted in the underground and the real. French phenom Quelza is one of those artists who is pushing techno into its next explosive era. With standout records on Mord, Hayes and most recently Dekamantel, Quelza is able to meet the moment with some of the heaviest productions out there today. But he also brings a level of sensuality and elegance that elevates the searing intensity to the level of fine art. Call Super flips the script on the modern DJ template. Across the last decade-plus, he’s approached dance music like a sculptor, bringing a refined and searching inquisitiveness to the form that both subverts and extends it. A Call Super record is immaculately wrought, yes, but also contains startling, jagged edges and moments of delight that are born out of fluid, flowing spontaneity. Kilopatrah Jones returns to the room for the second time in the month for a special b2b with Dee Diggs. It’s a match made in heaven - both artists celebrate Black lineages with a joy and a depth of vision that is electric. They’re tapping in for an extended session - you do not want to miss this. ■ No photos or videos ■ Ticket purchase does not guarantee entrance ■ No phone use on the dancefloor ■ The dance floor is for dancing, not conversation ■ No glowing/flashing clothes or items ■ Respect other people's space, no shuffling ■ Consent is mandatory ■ Zero tolerance for racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism or any form of discrimination ■ Take care of each other, alert our staff if somebody isn't feeling well ■ Violating the house rules will result in removal
