Visuals by: 3Li - SUSS NET - SF Set Time: All Night Long Entropy Worship LIVE HARDWARE - Mission Synths, San Francisco Set Time: 11 - 12am Entropy Worship is the solo project of San Francisco-based artist Brian B. James. Known for captivating live sets and unique blends of ethereal tones, like distant chimes or gentle waves or the tearing and ripping of limbs on sandpaper, gradually building into a complex tapestry of controlled-chaos and harsh industrial-textured layerings of polyrhythmic bass and noise. Entropy Worship's recorded works include two digital-only EPs, Thames and Variations and Dirty Consecration (both released in 2016), as well as one digital/vinyl EP, Facticity Devotion Discipline (released in 2018). Production technique revolves around a DAWless hardware system, with a Cirklon sequencing an array of drum machines, synthesizers, noise boxes, and effects units, all which are tuned around the E Phrygian mode. His musical education includes a Bachelor's degree in Music from SF State University and a Master's in Electronic Music and Recording Media from Mills College. His thesis focused on the philosophy of John Cage. Interests span a wide range of areas, including experimental music, computer music, recording engineering, DIY electronic music, music theory, music composition, audio production, Max/MSP, Ableton Live, SuperCollider, improvisation, DIY instrumental building, sound-art installation, web development, application development, avant-garde art/music history, dada, and disruptive art practice. With his partner Betsy, he is the owner of Mission Synths, an electronic music hardware shop located in San Francisco's Mission District. You can find out more at entropyworship.com.
