Sapphest returns for its third installment as NYC’s premier Sapphic play festival, featuring six 10-minute plays inspired by classic Sapphic pop songs. Expect imaginative and diverse stories brought to life, each one drawing inspiration from iconic titles like “After Midnight” by Chappell Roan, “PYNK” by Janelle Monáe, “Giver” by Chappell Roan, and “Fast Car” by Tracy Chapman. Audiences will be invited to guess which classic Sapphic pop song inspired each play, with the song titles listed in the playbill. Produced by an all-Sapphic team, the festival showcases an outstanding lineup of original plays written and directed by some of NYC’s hottest Sapphic playwrights and directors.
