Get ready for a night celebrating our 6th Annual Strange Fruit of Black Excellence Gala! Black Pride Colorado's 6th Annual Gala, Black Elegance: Creating a Space of Love and Joy takes place on Friday, September 25, 2026 at the Sturm Grand Pavilion at the Dencer Art Museum. This year's theme centers the love, strength and brilliance of Black queer women. The people who are the backbone of the community, often doing the most sustaining work with the least recognition. The Black Elegance gala honors the love, strength and brilliance of Black queer women with host RaeShanda Lias, performances by Jessica Betts and Theresa tha SONGBIRD, and a keynote from Dr. Tracie Brown The evening is a space built for love and joy, and it carries a $50,000 fundraising goal to sustain the organization's programming and mutual aid work, building on the $30,000 raised at last year's sold-out gala. Doors open at 6 p.m., with a cocktail hour from 6-7 p.m. followed by the gala program from 7-10 p.m. Community tickets are $200, available now on Eventbrite and at blackpridecolorado.org.
