Early tracks like “Hollywood High 16” and “I MISS 2007” channel the soundcloud rap emo pop-punk that shaped them, while songs like “Grandma Got Run Over By A Lawnmower” and “watercolor puddles” showcase their work as contemporaries in New York’s pandemic hyperpop scene, culminating in their 2022 project “just in case the world ends.” Their latest album, the new 925, marks a shift in sound, trading their early NY hyperpunk for a sardonic Southern Californian electroclash, highlighted by the viral hit “superbad” which blends post-hyperpop and electronic pop with electronic rap.
