Join us at Dorothy on Wednesday, September 16th at 7pm for our Sapphic Songwriter Showcase, where you'll get to hear local WLW songwriters perform in an intimate setting and share a more personal view with stories that inspired their music. You might just discover your next favorite queer artist and then you can say, "Hey, I heard them first at Dorothy!" Sapphic musicians and performers who want to meet and connect with other artists and build your music community? This event is for you, too. Grab a ticket and a drink and stay after the show to get to know your fellow local lesbian/lesbian-adjacent musicians. FEATURING: ChaseNow Newt Schottelkotte Tragic Heroine Ashley Stevenson Tickets are $12 in advance and $17 at the door. Doors open at 6pm and our performances begin at 7pm. Dorothy remains open after the show until 11pm. Dorothy is 21+ and requires physical or mobile ID for all to enter. No other refund requests will be honored. ------------- ABOUT THE PERFORMERS ChaseNow is a queer artist with a deep love for feeling. Newt Schottelkotte is an audio engineer and composer based in Chicago, often behind the scenes or behind the music at your favorite theaters. In addition to their professional work, they write songs inspired by the likes of John Prine, James Taylor, and Jensen McRae, blending classic country storytelling with a voice that can't be defined. Tragic Heroine is the project of Chicago-based recording artist Ellie Parr. She blends her confessional songwriting with intricate, melancholy progressions. Let your sins and sorrows wash away in a tide of reverb. Ashley Stevenson is a singer/songwriter and street performer based out of Chicago, IL. Accompanied by her 12 string guitar, she looks to share her music with the world.
