About
Born and raised in Spain, P.E.A.R.L. was first introduced to electronic music through the raw sounds of the late ’90s and early 2000s. His considered and intentional approach to DJing is shaped by a careful balance of tension and release, an eclectic sense of flow, and a deep understanding of context. Juana opens; since 2001, the MERGE resident has developed a penchant for straight-ahead techno and deeper, darker shades of first- and second-wave Chicago dance music. John Raffaele is the mind behind Philadelphia’s Impressions and Subsurface party. His time-warping selections set the stage for Anastasia Kristensen, who plunges the room into an avant-garde, sci-fi world. Age of Reflections' Bob Maynard and Brooklyn's Cassandra Croft share the UPSTAIRS chair; where Maynard brings ‘80s dubs, Croft brings the dreamy beats.
