House Experimental Ōmeyōcān: Tzapotl, is the second gathering in a two-part cultural series exploring the intersection of life, death, celebration, and Indigenous memory and spirituality, through contemporary art and nightlife. Scheduled for November 8, 2026, the event follows Xōchitl: A Celebration of Flowers, Rave & Art (September 18, 2026), expanding the project’s seasonal narrative from flowers to fruit and marking the transition into harvest season. Taking place one day before what we now recognize as Día de Muertos, Tzapotl, draws inspiration from Mexica understandings of abundance, reciprocity, and remembrance. Fruit serves as both a symbolic and physical offering, forming a large community altar that grounds the space and invites reflection while celebrating the creative force of our queer and trans communities. The evening combines live musical performances, vinyl dj sets, projection mapping, photography, immersive visual installations, and an artist and vendor market. The event will begin with a land acknowledgment to honor the Ohlone peoples whose land we gather on, establishing a collective intention rooted in gratitude and respect. The grounding will be followed by a meditative live sound bath, soon after flowing into a more vivacious state with vinyl dj sets and finally transitioning into higher energy live acts throughout the evening. Artists currently being invited include musical performers: @__san_cha__ @_palomx__ @malagrena @spinorita @djbrownangel @f.a.g.archive @dj.ari.b @spyc.hitou @lachucharude @per_sia @restingbetweenwaveforms These artists were selected because their practices reflect the project’s commitment to cultural storytelling, experimentation, and community-centered creative practice. Additional artists will be invited based on alignment with Ōmeyōcān’s mission of uplifting local QTBIPOC2S+ creatives.
