Beats without Borders returns to Mood Ring for a night dedicated to Black sound from around the globe, including a special guest visitor from Chicago making her Brooklyn debut. Madre Guía (@madre_guia) is a Bronx-based multidisciplinary artist weaving together queer Afro-Caribbean diasporic experiences through DJing, electronic music production, and improvisational performance. She experiments with electronic music to explore polyrhythmic potentialities for connection and healing. Her fierce selection and musical curation are meant to be shared as an offering to the dance floor. These offerings are made possible due to her deep knowledge of, and respect for, electronic music spanning the African diaspora.
