Join us at Bar Laika on Thursday, November 5th from 7pm for the forty-first edition of Playback with Smalltown Supersound. The Oslo-based label will feature playthroughs of new albums from Carmen Villan, DJ Plead, and previews of never-before-heard material. For more than 30 years, Smalltown Supersound has been a defining force in music, quietly amassing an expansive catalogue spanning experimental electronics, ambient, psychedelia, avant-garde jazz, noise, dub, leftfield disco, Balearic sounds, techno, house, and modern classical. Guided by an enduring spirit of exploration, the label has united visionary artists across generations and disciplines, from Pauline Oliveros, Joe McPhee, Sonic Youth and Todd Rundgren to Deathprod, Lindstrøm Bjørn Torske, Jenny Hval, Neneh Cherry, Actress, and Barker.
