Thursday, November 5 · 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM MST
Sakala · 1660 Gilpin St, Denver, CO 80218
The session will include restorative yoga and energy and sound healing. Held is a series created to give this community spaces to slow down, exhale, and remember what it feels like to simply be supported. The intention for this series is to create a consistent space for queer community members to experience safety and rest in their bodies by easing the nervous system into a state of deep calm. No performance, no pressure, just permission. Why Nourish Queer people are often taught to give before we receive. We show up for our communities, our chosen families, our activism, and everyone else's needs, sometimes at the cost of our own. Nourishment gets treated as something we'll get to later, after the caretaking is done. But a body and a nervous system that are never nourished, physically and energetically, cannot sustain the work of healing or the work of showing up for each other. This evening is about reversing that order, putting your own nourishment first. What to Expect Intro (15 min) — We open together and set intentions for the evening Restorative Yoga & Group Reiki Healing (45 min) — Gentle, supported yoga poses held with props, paired with group Reiki to ease the nervous system into rest Sound Journey (30 min) — Close the evening in stillness as we play crystal bowls, ocarina, chime, and ocean drum, letting the sound biologically reset the nervous system
