Sunday, November 8 · 6:00 PM – 12:00 AM PST
Kiku Room · 2812 Kettner Blvd, San Diego, CA 92101
This Sunday, Kiku Room welcomes Alex Kassian for a very special evening. A Berlin-based producer and DJ with a deep appreciation for the emotional side of dance music, Alex Kassian has carved out a distinctive sound that moves effortlessly between Balearic, progressive house, trance, and euphoric, sun-soaked electronics. His sets are thoughtful, adventurous, and full of feeling, equally capable of taking you somewhere unexpected or bringing an entire room together. Through his work with Love on the Rocks, his collaborative project Opal Sunn, and a growing catalog of acclaimed productions and reworks, Kassian has become one of the most exciting names in contemporary underground dance music. His celebrated reimagining of E2-E4's "A Reference to E2-E4" is a perfect example of his ability to breathe new life into timeless sounds. This booking is particularly meaningful to us at Kiku Room. Alex's track "Leave Your Life," remixed by Lonely Hearts, was the opening selection on our very first Kiku Room Deep Cuts playlist. That record helped set the tone for the musical journey we wanted to share when we first opened our doors. To now welcome the artist behind it into our room feels like a beautiful full-circle moment. Robert Oxford will be opening the room from 6–8PM, setting the mood before Alex takes us through a four-hour journey from 8PM–12AM. San Diego, this one means a lot to us. Come out, show your support, and help us give Alex a proper Kiku Room welcome.
