First Pride - Songs and Stories from the Birth of a Movement
Before Pride was a celebration, it was an act of resistance. In June 1970, a courageous group of activists took to the streets of New York City for the first Christopher Street Liberation Day March, marking the beginning of what would become a worldwide movement of visibility, equality, and pride. Join South Coast Chorale as we journey back to where it all began. Through powerful choral music, inspiring stories, and moments of joyful audience participation, First Pride celebrates the voices that refused to be silenced, the courage to stand together, and the extraordinary resilience of the LGBTQ+ community.
